On Saturday, March 23, 2024, the Soul Sisters group ventured to Porto’s Bakery and Café in West Covina, renowned for its authentic Cuban delicacies like potato balls, guava and cheese strudel, Parisian chocolate cake, and savory sandwiches.  Despite the chilly weather and scattered showers, nineteen ladies, including three first-time visitors, braved the elements for a day of food, fun, and fellowship. Sisters Miko and Vasquez facilitated arrangements with Porto’s staff, securing seating for the large group at one long table, fostering easy conversation and shared experiences.

Reflecting on the day, we found solace in Numbers 6:24-26, left feeling uplifted, nourished both spiritually and gastronomically, and eagerly anticipate our next gathering on Friday, April 19, 2024.
