Judah Effect / So Cal Sings | September 15-16, 2023

The 5th annual Judah Effect Worship Workshop, held on September 15th and 16th, was a deep time of consecration and encouragement. We were blessed to have Sis. Dedie Cooley from Normandy, TX deliver two life changing messages about being used of God and for our worship to be pure and honest. Pastor Josh Winkler of Surprise, AZ was also a special speaker and truly delivered a message of encouragement. Our other amazing clinicians were Sis. Nalani Gallardo from Chula Vista, Pastor Johnny Walker from Yucaipa, Sis. Erica Marxer from Little Rock, AR, and our very own Bro. Albert Menzies, Sis. Kacey Lynn Clark, Bro. Gentry DeCosta, Sis. Sarah Booker, Bro. Seth Clark, and Sis. Jana McVay.

Our attendees were blessed to have five tracks to choose from during breakout sessions. These tracks covered vocal technique, band dynamics, leadership training, sound and media technology, and songwriting. One of the band track sessions was a class where multiple clinicians taught attendees “How to Teach Others” in their local assemblies. Attendees who participated in the songwriting workshop left with two original songs well on the way to completion.

Our attendees also were blessed to join with the churches of the Southern California Commission for SoCal Sings, a night of worship featuring a multi-church worship team and groups from California City, Calimesa, Redlands, and Rialto. There was also a quartet that sang comprised of singers from Northridge, Oildale, Lake Isabella, and Rialto.

A special thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the workshop a success: Cherish Cooley and Lindsey Moore who came with Sis. Cooley, Corinna Choske, Kim Martin, Josefa Chavez, Roman Stevens, Becky Serna, Pablo Farfan, Lauren DeCosta, Ashley Bennet, Zeke Leyva, Beatriz Gonzalez, Trenton Booker, Breanna Hinkley, Joshua Artishon, Frenchie Stevens, Danny Tirado, Sabrina Tirado, Erika Tirado, Maddie Lorenz, Elsy Galindo, Justina Anguiano, Kenzie Lorenz, Sarah Booker, Sarah Jasso, Amanda Thomas, Seth Clark, and Gentry DeCosta. Our volunteers helped with set up, registration, food preparation, recording sessions, attending to our clinicians, and so much more. Marissa and Jessica McVay were a huge blessing in making sure that the workshop ran smoothly by helping with all the planning and overseeing the execution of the event.
