Family & Friends Day | Mar 30, 2025
Family and Friends Day at Inland Lighthouse on March 30th was one for the books. From the first note of worship to the last laugh of the cornhole tournament, the whole day was packed with fun… and a whole lot of macaroni.
Things kicked off with a powerful service with Evangelist Isaiah Dunn, and God moved. The altar was full, and people were filled with the Holy Ghost, and baptized! It was a WONDERFUL SERVICE!
But the day didn’t stop there. Oh no—we were just getting warmed up. Right after service, the smell of grilled burgers drew people in as a hardworking kitchen crew (led by Brella Booker) served up a top-tier meal complete with chips, juicy watermelon, and enough food to feed the army that was coming.
From there, fun exploded in every direction. There was a toddler zone lead by the teachers of that age, with a bounce house, Orbeez, and toys galore. Meanwhile, the 5–11-year-old girls got to dive into crafts and activities thanks to Mindy Rowe.
But let’s talk about The Mac and Cheese Contest. Twelve brave souls entered the culinary arena, armed with nothing but elbow noodles and unshakable confidence. The competition was fierce. The stakes? A gift card and the legendary Golden Macaroni. In the end, three rose above the rest: Bre Hinckley took 3rd (a redemption arc that is unbelievable to those that know), Bridget Gamble snagged 2nd, and the queen of Mac & Cheese herself, Mary Johnson, claimed the crown.
As if that weren’t enough, the Married vs. Singles volleyball tournament brought out everyone’s competitive side. It was a nail-biter to the end, but the Married team clutched the win. The Singles, in good spirits (and with a deal to honor), cleaned up the chairs, tables, and trash like champs… well, like champs that lost.
And the cornhole tournament was fantastic in its own right Thirteen teams. Over three hours and thousands of beanbag tosses. Bro Kevin deserves a medal for running the whole thing start to finish. Somewhere around 7:30 PM, it finally wrapped up.
There was a giant bounce house out back, pick-up basketball games, spontaneous clusters of people just talking, laughing, connecting—it was what the church is all about. The family of God doing life together, one smile and small cup of macaroni at a time.
If you missed it, don’t worry—your next chance is June 29th. And this one’s going to be huge because it’s also All Nations Sunday. So mark your calendar and get ready. We’ll see you there!
