Bible Quiz Tournament | March 14-15, 2025
This past weekend, our community came together for an exciting event—the Rialto Tournament. We had the privilege of hosting 48 quiz teams from across California, with five quiz rooms running simultaneously and the fellowship hall buzzing as the kitchen served up delicious food. It was a fantastic time, but it also required an immense amount of effort. From setting up and tearing down the quiz rooms to preparing and serving food, cleaning up, and ensuring everything was ready for Sunday service, the workload was no small feat.
A huge thank you is in order for everyone who contributed to making this event a success. If you were involved in any way—whether you helped out or simply came to cheer on the teams—please know that we appreciate your efforts. Special appreciation goes to Sis Leaya, who organized the food fundraiser, and Sis Nana Thomas, who came out of retirement to lend her culinary expertise and help create some truly amazing dishes. We’re also grateful to the many individuals who donated baked goods, food, and drinks to sell. Your hard work and generosity were the backbone of this event, and we couldn’t have pulled it off without you.
As with our last tournament, we fielded six talented teams: two Junior teams, three Intermediate teams, and one Experienced team. Here’s how they were composed:
- Junior Team 1: Daxon Reighard, Dawson Booker, Alex Santiago, Riley Coggins
- Junior Team 2: Kristin Dillon, Marilyn Booker, Abigail Ramirez, Victor Molina, Ellison Stevens
- Intermediate Team 1: Christopher Santiago, Devin Serna, Andrew Cruz, Lizette Stevens
- Intermediate Team 2: Landry Booker, Zane Dillon, Anthony Lopez, Anahi Montoya
- Intermediate Team 3: Cody Arnett, Troy Stevens, Abigail Santana, Josh Cruz
- Experienced Team: Peyton Booker, Isiah Vargas, Sebastian Echevarria, Noah Tirado, Wyatt Dillon
The results from the tournament were impressive and worth celebrating:
- Junior Team 1 took 5th place, with Alex Santiago earning 4th highest scorer honors.
- Intermediate Team 1 also secured 5th place, with Andrew Cruz as the 7th highest scorer.
- Intermediate Team 2 saw Zane Dillon shine as the 3rd highest scorer.
- Experienced Team came in strong with a 2nd place finish, with Isaiah Vargas as the 5th highest scorer and Peyton Booker as the 3rd highest scorer.
Looking ahead, our next challenge awaits at the Le Grande, Oregon tournament on April 11-12. This will be a combined event with the Northwestern Region, promising a great time—though it’s a long drive! We’re optimistic and expecting wonderful things from our teams as they continue to grow and compete.
Once again, thank you to everyone who made the Rialto Tournament a memorable success. Your dedication and support are what keep this community thriving!
