Connections Events | May 22, 2026

The Connections event at Brother Bob Betor’s house was once again an incredible evening of food, laughter, and fellowship. Brother Bob has become known for opening his home and making people feel welcome, and this gathering was no exception. Around 60 people attended, which was especially impressive considering how many graduation parties and events were happening that same weekend.

The food was outstanding. Cheeseburgers and beef dogs were cooking on the grill all evening, complete with all the toppings and trimmings you could want. There was potato salad, nacho cheese with chips, desserts spread across tables everywhere, and enough good food to keep people making “just one more trip” for most of the night. Some of the desserts were homemade, some store-bought, and nobody seemed particularly interested in figuring out which was which once the eating started.

Of course, one of the unofficial traditions of the night continued as well. Every now and then, eyes would drift cautiously toward the property and the avocado trees, quietly scanning for the infamous Bigfoot sighting that somehow always becomes part of the conversation at Brother Bob’s house. No confirmed reports this year… though a few people seemed pretty convinced they heard something moving in the distance.

More than anything, though, it was simply a great night for people from  Inland Lighthouse Church to spend time together. Conversations filled the backyard, friendships were strengthened, stories were shared, and the fellowship was every bit as wonderful as the food.

We are thankful to Brother Bob for his hospitality and for everyone who helped make the evening such a memorable time together.
