Over the past four weeks, Inland Lighthouse Church wrapped up the fourth annual Rialto Blitz, and this year it moved faster than it ever has before.

The goal of the blitz is simple. Cover the entire city of Rialto door to door with invitations to Inland Lighthouse Church. No shortcuts. No mass mailing. Just people walking neighborhoods and hanging invitations on doors.

This year our teams placed door hangers on approximately 30,000 homes across the city.

When this effort first started four years ago, we honestly were not sure how long it would take. The challenge was originally built around a 12-week window, which seemed reasonable for covering that many doors across an entire city.

What has happened since then has been unbelievable!  The first year took five weeks. The second year stretched out to seven weeks. The third year came back down to five weeks.

And this year the entire city was covered in four weeks, and realistically closer to three and a half. The final week was mostly cleanup with only about 700 doors left in the city.

To put that in perspective, we have only gone halfway through the 12-week window once. The fact that the entire city was covered this year in about a third of that time is honestly unreal.

That kind of pace does not happen by accident. It happens because people show up and put in the work. Many individuals stepped out in a big way this year and covered an enormous amount of ground. We are incredibly thankful for every person who gave up part of their weeks and walked neighborhoods across Rialto.

One group in particular deserves recognition. Team Three consisted of only five members, all from the HOPE Corps alumni. Despite having the smallest team, they kept pace with the other groups and covered nearly as many doors as anyone.

The blitz itself may be finished, but the outreach is not slowing down. In the weeks leading up to Easter, we will be shifting gears and organizing a one-day blitz to see how much of the city we can cover in a single day. In addition to neighborhoods, teams will also be working parking lots, placing invitations on cars by the thousands.
